Milligan golf named AAC Champions of Character
Harrison, Tenn. (April 29, 2009) --- The Milligan College men's golf team was selected as the 2009 Champions of Character recipient at the AAC/NAIA Direct Qualifier Tournament held this past week at the Bear Trace Course at Harrison Bay. The selection was made by the head coaches of the AAC schools.
The Champions of Character award is given to the team that reflects the Champions of Character core values of sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility, respect and servant leadership.
“This Champions of Character award is simply a reflection of the type of young men we have in our golf program at Milligan,” commented Head Coach Tony Wallingford . “I am very proud of them and the professional manner in which they conduct themselves on the golf course. These guys love it and they really enjoy being a team and having a great time together. They work hard, compete together, and make it fun.”
The Buffs conclude their season with a fourth place finish in the AAC/NAIA Direct Qualifier Tournament. Individually, sophomore Ben Treadway (Johnson City, Tenn.) was selected to the All-Tournament second team with his 54-hole total of 228 (76-80-72).
