
Buffs' tennis signs Sullivan Central's Brown
Milligan College, Tenn. (May 15, 2009) --- The Milligan
College men’s tennis team signed Sullivan Central’s Mickey
Brown to join the Buffs for the 2009-10 season.
Brown played two seasons at Sullivan Central and was awarded
with post season accolades both years. As a junior, Brown
was selected to the All-Conference honorable mention squad.
This past season, Brown was named to the All-Conference
second team.
“I'm proud to add Mickey Brown to our lineup,” commented
Head Coach Ron Worrell. “He plays a solid game with a
quickness on the court that brings an element of excitement
to every match. His dedication to the sport of tennis will
serve him well.”
In accordance with his tennis scholarship, Brown was also
awarded the Presidential Academic Scholarship from Milligan,
where he plans to study fine arts. Mickey is the son of
Elizabeth Brown of Kingsport, Tenn. His brother, Joe Brown,
is a 2008 graduate of Milligan and was a four-year member of
the Buffs’ basketball team.
