Talbert hits national mark, Wood runs lifetime best
Knoxville, Tenn. (April 10, 2009) --- Milligan College's track runners posted great times at the University of Tennessee's Sea Ray Relays on Friday.
Milligan senior Jacklyn Talbert (Mt. Carmel, Tenn.) , an outdoor national finalist in 2008, ran to a national qualifying mark in the 1500-meters at UT. Talbert took down the provisional mark in the event and was just shy of the national A standard with her time of 4:44.39.
Buff junior Aaron Wood (Aurora, Colo.) also found success on Tom Black Track with a new 1500-meter lifetime best of 4:02.73.
Three more Milligan athletes were scheduled to compete during the evening session but opted not to race due to weather concerns.
Both squads will be in action Saturday at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
