Milligan College Buffaloes

Milligan College, Tenn. (May 8, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's volleyball team finalized their 2009 schedule this past week.

The Lady Buffs' schedule looks to be the most competitive one in recent years, as they will be traveling to two large tournaments and hosting one of their own. The Lady Buffs will travel to NAIA member school, Asbury College, in October and to NCAA Division II Birmingham Southern in September.

Milligan opens up their season at home, as they play host to the Milligan Mountain Madness Tournament on Aug. 28 and 29. The Lady Buffs will face off against Shorter College and West Virginia Tech on Friday and then follow up with Southern Virginia University and the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday.

“I'm thrilled to start my second season at Milligan,” commented Head Coach Doneva Bays. “I'm excited to add a home tournament to our schedule as well as two other very competitive tournaments. I think our 2009 schedule is highly competitive and will be a great test for our team.”

The Lady Buffs graduated one senior off of this year's squad in Christy Degen. Joining the Lady Buffs next season is Chelsea Spivey, a setter from Gate City, Va., Kendra Fiddler, a 6'1” middle blocker from Colorado Springs Colo., Katelin Henson a defensive specialist and libero from Kingsport, Tenn., and Holly English a defensive specialist and outside hitter also from Kingsport, Tenn.
