Milligan College, Tenn. (May 26, 2009) --- Milligan College
Head Coach Chris Layne announced the addition of six
more signees for the 2009-2010 cross country and track and
field seasons.
Heading up the list is Osceola High School senior Yolanda
Migoyo (Kissimmee, Fla.). Migoyo owns personal bests of
59.03 for 400 meters and 2:27.91 for 800 meters. She won the
400 meter title at this year’s FHSAA District 4 meet and has
been a member of back to back state qualifying 4 x 800 meter
relay teams for Coach Mike Clemens.
Joining Migoyo is Manchester High School (Midlothian, Va.)
senior Elise King. King holds a shot put best of 36-2.5 and
recently finished second at the Dominion District Outdoor
Track and Field Championships.

Degefa earns All-American honors
Edwardsville, Ill. (May 23, 2009) --- Milligan College senior Wegene Degefa(Rochester, N.Y.) earned All-American honors Saturday at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship, while the Buffs had four runners placing in the top 10 overall.
Degefa finished the marathon in 2:33:50 which earned him third place and tallied six points for the team total. Degefa’s time shattered the previous school record held by fellow senior Will Frye (Pulaski, Va.) of 2:42:40 which was set at the 2008 championship.
“I am incredibly proud of Wegene’s patience today,” commented Head Coach Chris Layne. “He executed his race plan perfectly and earned himself All-American honors in his last outdoor meet of his collegiate career.”
Frye was seeded 45th heading into the men’s marathon, but his time of 2:50:09.01 earned him a spot in the top 25. Frye ended his collegiate career with four NAIA national championship appearances, two school records and was an academic All-American.
