Patton finished his senior season with a 78 stroke average over 12 rounds and five tournaments. He was selected to the All-AAC team as well as the All-Tournament team at the Cavalier Invitational.
Patton, one of the most decorated golfers in the program's history, is a four time All-AAC, three time All-Region, Region XII Player of the Year, AAC Player of the Year. Additionally, he made two NAIA National Tournament appearances and earned several All-Tournament selections during his collegiate career.
Grayson is the son of Dick and Tammy Patton of Fries, Virginia. He is a double major in mathematics and biology.

Character Counts! coaches' seminar |

Heath Shuler to speak at character building event
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 9, 2008) — Milligan College has partnered with the nation's largest character development educator, Character Counts!, for the area's first comprehensive character development program geared for coaches. The Aug. 1 “Winning with Character” seminar will bring noted character development speakers Dr. Gary Smit, NFL Kicking Coach Doug Blevins, along with Bob Beville to the local arena for a one-day character program for coaches.
Kingsport native and retired General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Steven H. Jones first approached Milligan President Donald R. Jeanes about partnering with Character Counts! last year. A pioneer in the development of the Character Counts!, Jones has traveled throughout the United States helping communities develop character building programs. He wanted to bring his efforts close to home by developing a character development program for area coaches.
In a follow-up community event on Aug. 21, former University of Tennessee quarterback and current North Carolina Congressman Heath Shuler will also talk about the importance of strong character. As a spokesperson for Character Counts!, Shuler has traveled with Jones throughout Tennessee introducing character programs in communities.

Wallingford among nation's elite
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TENN. (May 9, 2008) — Milligan College men's basketball Head Coach Tony Wallingford has a long and illustrious career resulting in many conference, regional and national honors and awards. Wallingford now stands 14th on the National Intercollegiate Athletics Association Winningest Active Coaches honor roll.
Coach Wallingford is in his 25th year as a collegiate head coach and 20th season at the helm of the Milligan basketball program. He is Milligan's All-Time winningest coach with 541 wins in 25 seasons.
Wallingford is a four-time Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Coach of the Year and has led the Buffs to seven conference titles and two NAIA National Tournament appearances, including one "Sweet Sixteen" appearance. Wallingford's Milligan teams have compiled twelve 20-plus win seasons. Wallingford's seven conference championships rank him #1 among all AAC coaches. During his tenure, the men's basketball team has been ranked among the NAIA's top 25 six times.

No. 1 seed Lady Buffs eliminated
New Albany, Ind. (May 8, 2008) --- The Milligan College softball team lost in the second round of the Region XII tournament Thursday afternoon to Mountain State University. The Lady Cougars outlasted the Lady Buffs 3-1.
Sophomore Kayla Walker (Tracy, Calif.) is credited with the loss as she scattered three hits, while giving up three earned runs in one and one-third innings of work. Sophomore Ryann Musick (Elizabethton, Tenn.) came in and pitched two and two-third innings in relief, while AAC Pitcher of the Year freshman Sydney Burns (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) pitched two innings and struck out two batters.
At the plate, the Lady Buffs were led by All-AAC junior Jessica Blevins (Watauga, Tenn.) as she went 2-2 with a run scored. Another All-AAC pick, senior Sarah Smith (Elizabethton, Tenn.) played her final game for the Lady Buffs and went 1-3 at the plate, as did fellow All-AAC pick sophomore Leah White (Fall Branch, Tenn.). Burns went 1-2 on the day offensively.
