Athletics play a key role in modling and shaping the college experience at Milligan. We want our athletes to excel, not only in their individual sport, but also as Champtions of Character in life.In 2006, Milligan received the NAIA Institutional Chamption of Character Award from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Student-athletes are asked to accept the five core character values of the NAIA, including respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Throughout the year, student-athletes are involved with local service projects and volunteer their time at local schools and hospitals.
Along with Milligan's intercollegiate programs compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) as a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Milligan also has Intramural Programs. These include dodgeball, flag football, basketball, beach volleyball, ping pong, chess, paintball, and bowling. Intramurals are a way to get involved in a spirit of healthy recreational competition.
